We celebrated KARV’s fifth anniversary this fall as a growing firm with more than 20 team members and senior advisors worldwide. Since launching in 2012 with two people in New York City, KARV now serves domestic and international corporate clients across a wide variety of industries, as well as government agencies and nonprofits, from offices in New York and Los Angeles.
This past year, we watched a new administration in the United States usher in an era of change that is both unprecedented and unpredictable in terms of domestic and global policy governing trade, regulation, taxes and other critical areas. KARV has been able to provide insightful assistance and valuable support to our clients as they move forward in this ever-changing political and regulatory landscape.
KARV has had the good fortune and pleasure to work on a range of interesting and challenging assignments over this past year. Among our projects and clients:
We continue to provide services to a multi-national Japanese company as it further expands its U.S. operations and navigates the shifting federal regulatory climate.
KARV is helping a new company launch Speks, a mini-magnet desktoy for adults, against the backdrop of heightened federal regulatory oversight of similar high-powered magnet products. Speks became one of the hottest gifts for adults this holiday season, and was featured in a variety of high-profile gift guides:
We worked with an international luxury jewelry company as it expanded its U.S. footprint by opening a new showcase store in NYC, while simultaneously bringing one of the world’s largest diamonds to a successful sale at auction. KARV delivered strategic media relations, messaging, crisis/issues management and media training services, helping to enhance the jeweler’s position and reputation in the high-end fashion retail marketplace.
Our California team is working with a company going through the CFIUS process. As CFIUS regulations and requirements are under review and likely to change going forward, KARV is offering strategic guidance based on the latest regulatory developments.
Our corporate positioning and media relations work with nuTonomy, a top developer of software systems for autonomous vehicles, was recognized in July by influential technology publication The Information when it cited the Boston-based company as “the most high-profile independent startup in the industry right now…that has gotten the most attention in the industry.” We were also excited to see that nuTonomy was purchased late last year for $400 million.
Among other clients, we also continue to support the investor relations function of a leading global gaming company around its earnings announcements and other important communications with its investors and shareholders.
KARV continues to grow its relationships with other professional service firms in a variety of industries in dozens of states and countries, and will continue seeking best in class partners to further enhance our ability to serve clients.
We look forward to working with you in 2018 and wish you much health, happiness and prosperity in the New Year. Thanks to you—our dedicated clients, partners and friends—for these exciting five years. Here’s to the next half decade!
